Frequently Asked Questions

Please feel free to ask us anything about wardrobes, or any custom built storage solutions

Q:- What is the drawer made of?
A:- 18mm melamine covered HMR (High Moisture Resistant) particle board on all sides and the bottom. (5 sided drawer box.). No metal sides.
No 3mm flimsy bases. All edged with ABS edging.

Q:- What weight can I put in my drawers?
A:- Your drawer can carry up to 30Kg.

Q:- How are my drawers put together?
A:- All drawers are screwed from the sides and the base.

Q:- How is the drawer face attached?
A:- The drawer face is screwed to the drawer subfront and held in place with these screws and the handle bolt.

Q:- What sort of handles can I have?
A:- Our standard handle is a 96mm anodised bow handle, which we chose because of it's safety feature of having no sharp edges or corners, to catch clothes while in the robe.. However all drawers come predrilled to accept 96mm handles so you can opt to have your own installed at this size.

Q:- What height are shelves fixed at?
A:- All shelves are adjustable at 32mm intervals so there are no fixed heights.

Q:- Can I have any other colour?
A:- South West Wardrobes preferred option is white as it provides a clean cut look that will match most décor and remains light and bright within the robe. However we do offer a range of colours (please be aware that these do incur a surcharge).

Q:- How will you make my space bigger?
A:- We don't increase the space, we perfect the use of the space so that there are no gaps in the usable areas, by creating double hanging and taller units.

Q:- Where will I store my Shoes?
A:- We believe that your best shoe storage is on adjustable shelves. This gives you the flexibility of adjusting shelves to suit various boot and shoe heights.

Q:- Can I get baskets?
A:- South West wardrobes don't do wire baskets or shelving. Our product is deeper front to rear than standard wire shelving and therefore carries more than the average shelf.

Q:- Do the edges chip or break away?
A:- Under normal use the edges will withstand heavier than usual abuse. We use ABS edging which doesn't chip or crack.

Q:- Do you remove existing shelf and rail?
A:- It is necessary for this to be removed in most instances. We recommend that you remove this yourself as you are then able to patch and paint the wall before your new robe is installed.
South West Wardrobes will remove it for you if required. This will incur a fee and we will patch up any holes left but do not repaint walls. Any shelving removed will be left on site.
